Two Omaha hands where I need to analyze the odds on each street.
The first hand I flop 3 pair and I'm facing some heat from an aggressive but good player. I was pretty sure he had either a straight or set so I was drawing to a boat. I'm curious to see my equity against a range of hands.
In the second, this hand was a Hwang special. I'm about 1/3 through the book and there's some detailed discussion on 2 gapper straight draws. The flop was all but perfect from what I recall.

Stack size is a consideration here, and I can see two reasons for calling his bet.
1. While you don't have position, you have a card essential to a bluff on the turn. You have the nut Ace for the flush. If the guy is that good, he's going to know it's out there somewhere.
2. Three pair suck, no doubt about it. Yet, I'm not so sure I'd give up quite yet. If he has the straight, unless he has two diamonds, he has no redraws. He may even have two pair and is using position to his advantage.
If he has a set (this is Omaha) then you have a problem. If you had raised on the flop, essentially representing the straight, and he came over the top, then you would have a better idea where you stood. As it stands, your flat call keeps the pot size manageable for a look at the turn.
I'd be interested to see what the numbers look like if you run them.
The first one looks like a good fold (to my newbie Omaha eye). You could hit your boat and not have the nuts, right?
I ran a few hands through an Omaha Calculator, giving your opponent at least one King and a Jack (and paired Kings or paired Jacks). While on the flop you are a 2:1 dog, there are quite a few big cards that will put you way ahead on the turn. If a 3 comes, fold.
I believe Aces in the hole would have been raised from the Button pre-flop, so you don't necessarily have to worry about that.
Of course, there are more cards out there that won't help than those that will, but I'd still see the turn and then determine worse case scenarios.
Of course, you can always wait for a better spot.
