Your notes are correct. I play heeee quite often (another Aussie, btw) and respect his play. While I wouldn't be caught dead with his hand, I imagine that something else was going on at the table, or he was just using his big stack to get a little speculative.
Yes, he had previously won a big pot from the same guy (both were big stacks) and there was a little poking and prodding going on. I'm guessing he liked his chances to stack him if he did hit.
