Victory! Erm....yay.

So I played TheDeuce today and won 2-0. Bah, too easy - I was expecting tougher games.

I'm joking of course.

He's a student of the game and has worked on and improved his HU game significantly. I was a bigger dog than I expected and fortunately the cards cooperated. Each game followed a similar progression where I would slowly get ground down then fight my way back to even. When the blinds escalated and it came time to get lucky - I got lucky.

In saying that, I was happy that I hung in for each game and gave myself a punchers chance to win each. I was also happy that I changed my strategy in the 2nd game when it appeared I was being outplayed. TD knew that I open a very wide range on the button so he started 3-betting liberally. I expected this, but I figured the best strategy was to flat and see flops in position with a bloated pot. The problem was, I kept completely whiffing every flop and had to give up when TD rightly cbet. Whether my strategy was completely flawed or the sample size was too small, I decided to either fold or reraise in the 2nd game which seemed to have more success. The problem was in adjusting I'd been dragged into a preflop war which just isn't my game.

Which brings me to the question I was pondering early in the first game. If I min-raise 80-90% of my range on the button, and my opponent (rightly) starts 3-betting me very wide. How horrible is flatting in position and with what range is it correct to 4-bet?
